Sing On - Year 3

This year, Year 3 children have been enjoying taking part in “Sing On” singing sessions. This hard work culminates in a
celebration concert at Bedford Corn Exchange on Tuesday 20th June.

Itinerary
1.30pm Children will arrive at the Corn Exchange
2.00pm Rehearsal
(Time will be allocated for a quick break and drink, plus a longer tea break at the end of rehearsal)
6.15pm Concert starts
7.30pm Concert finishes

With so many children involved at these events, space is obviously very much at a premium. Please ensure that your
child only brings with them the minimum they need for the day, just a packed tea (no nut products please) in a
disposable bag and plenty of non fizzy drinks.

Concert dress will be your child’s usual school uniform.

The school will arrange transport to take the children to the Corn Exchange but please note, parents/carers will be
responsible for taking their child home at the end of the concert at 7.30pm. There will be a voluntary contribution
charge of £2.15 towards the cost of the coach.

Tickets are available by calling the Corn Exchange Box Office on 01234 718044 or via their website
centralboxoffice@bedford.gov.uk. Tickets are priced at £6.00 for adults and £3.00 for children. There may be tickets
available on the door from 5.30pm, on the day of the concert, but this cannot be guaranteed.

Please complete and return the attached consent form, together with the voluntary contribution by Friday 26th May
2017.

I am sure the children will gain much from this musical experience.

Welcome to Oakley Primary Academy

On behalf of the governors, the staff, pupils I would like to welcome you to Oakley Primary Academy. We are friendly village school with exciting times ahead as we continue along our transition of moving towards a primary school with our first year 5 pupils joining us this year. We are a member of the Sharnbrook Academy Federation and work closely with all of the schools within the Federation, as well as other schools and pre-schools in the local area. This enables us to share expertise, good practice and learn and move forward together. The close links we have with the pre-schools enable us to really get to know the pupils and their families before they join the Early Years.

We are proud to be a ‘Values School’. The values we teach are modelled by all of the team and through our teaching of the curriculum. We are a supportive and hardworking team, where all stakeholders are valued and listened to.

At Oakley Primary Academy we deliver the National Curriculum through a creative curriculum so that learning is creative, fun and meaningful. There is a clear progression of skills in each subject to enable children to grow in all areas and be successful, not only in key assessments, but in daily life.

We work very closely with the families of our school and acknowledge the importance of close home/school links. We have an open door policy and there is always someone available if you wish to talk.

I am extremely proud of our school and of all the hard work from our pupils, families, staff, PTA and governors.

If you would like any further information about our school please make contact via the details on this website.
